OZ45 Archive: The Last Word

Fifteen records deep, the OZ45 Archive series comes to a close.

When we started this series, the mission was simple. Take rare Australian cuts that deserved a second life and give them the 7" treatment. Real reissues, hand screen printed covers, housed and pressed the way collectors want them.

From Boney & Stoney's Lyrical Luncheon through the whole run, the Archive brought rare Australian hip hop back into circulation on the humble 45. Freo Jam and Vegemite splatter wax. Killah cuts and dusty samples. Names that shaped the era and tracks that had all but vanished, back for the heads who missed them the first time.

We came back in 2026 to close it out properly, with two iconic joints lifted from the timeless Rock Da City compilation. Balans The Lyrical Commission and Nilvoid Chinese Drawback, remastered, and pressed to 7" for the first time. The right way to put a full stop on the series.

Fifteen records. Thirty songs totalling 1:52:59 on the clock. Nearly two hours of tracks that laid the foundation of Australian hip hop, back on wax where they belong.

That's a wrap on OZ45 series. The Archive may be closed, but who knows, maybe we'll come back for one last lap.
